Oh no, I missed Brazil Day! At least I was out of the city rather than just loafing on the couch. Looks like it was lots of fun.

The dance is called "capoeira"!
Pastel is good, but "empada', which you mentioned on the post above, is better. Or, at least I like it more than pastel!
My favorite empadas are made with hearts of palm, but the chicken ones are also delicious!

Hi there, Saffron! Me, too!

Hi Beth: It was fun! But it's good you were able to go out of the city for a while. Hope you had a good time!

Hi Ana: Capoiera! Yes! Thanks for giving me the name. So you like empada better than pastel? Ahhh! I'm looking for an easy and good empada recipe. Empada with hearts of palm? Interesting. At the festival, they only sold meat and chicken empadas.

Valeu Chef Paz!

I came across you blog and really enjoy it. Will definitely add to my favourites and keep an eye on it.

As a fellow 'Brazilian Semi-chef' abroad, I wonder if you can help with one problem. I have started doing this video blog - http://www.cucabrazuca.com - and would love to do a Pastel recipe. But I can't find the pastry on sale here in London. Have you ever tried to make your own? Do you have any recipes you can share?

Also: what is your favourite Brazilian dish?

Keep up the good work.
